I think the sofa has rubber webbing. My guess is the wrong size/gauge of springs are installed, they weren't tied down enough, or the webbing was exposed to water at some point, which will cause it to loosen. It has been redone at least once before - there are smaller tacks still in the frame. Its not a standard checkered webbing, but the entire bottom is covered in one big piece of some sort of webbing material. It has a foam seatpad that needs rewebbing and i was just wondering if a spring-loaded upholstery stapler will do the job when attaching new webbing.
